Poetry | Anger vs Love

Forgiveness where did you go I need you now I'm angry and I can’t let it go.
What do you remember?

I recall the anger that took over my heart while trying to breed hatred in my soul
Sunrise after sunrise the feelings cut so deep some nightfalls unable to locate sleep
All the while anger fights love it brews turmoil and rage that makes every attempt to stir my spirit whispering sour nothings urging me to take heed to listen and to agree

The anger is screaming something so unnatural that I can’t truly understand the language sounds foreign like it comes from a distant land
What it’s saying I can only feel it and it’s filled with negativity
But the love is so soft like a soft voice in a soothing song it wants me to forgive and move on that’s when I heard a song I will remember you that’s the song that the song came to me
What do you remember?

There are distant memories of faces and smiles sounds of laughs and the sweet images of the anatomy of a man and woman engulfed in romantic escapades at the time, it seemed like a brilliant idea but now the consequences make the reasoning unclear
The anger is forceful it reminds me of the hurt and the pain it speaks to me of the sweet joys of revenge

I can’t go back I can’t let anger win I allow the love to fill my heart and open it up for the light to come in

Love takes control love soothes my soul love makes me happy and love replaces broken memories with thoughts of a new future and how majestic life will be.
Love wins.
